What should we consume (beside water) prior to conducting morning PT? Most of us are only awake 30-60 minutes before we exercise so can't digest too much. Does it matter if we are doing cardio versus muscle strength? Most workouts are 60-90 minutes.
ReplyDeleteGreat question. If you are eating 30-60 min before PT, consume a carbohydrate-rich snack before exercise to top off muscle stores. If you don't feel like eating early in the morning, liquids, like Gatorade, may be a better
ReplyDeletechoice than whole foods. Choose pre-exercise snacks that are low in fat and fiber to ensure optimal digestion. Suggestions: fruit, granola bar, Carnation Instant Breakfast mixed with skim milk, or bread with jelly.
